What is energy-systems-engineering? -
The
technical university of Clausthal is the first german
university
that introduced the subject.
It
is pretty new as an independant degree; at most other
technical
universities it is
part of electrical- or mechanical engineering.
EST
(energy systems technology) is aimed at teaching an overview on
todays energy-mix and the necessary
knowledge on
energy production, /-transportation, /-transformation and
/-conservation whether electric or thermal.
I
am an 8.th-semester student at Clausthal. Like most of the
students who are studying EST with me
I focus on electrical energy with a strong emphasis on regenerative energies.
I plan on finishing probably april or may next year.
I`ll
be one of the first five est-engineers,
so be quick to hire me :-) !
here
are some links on the subject;
mostly on my university, so they are
in german,
BUT most pages also have an english version.
They are pretty good I think, also if you happen to be a german high-school student
and try to find out what you`d like to study. Go ahead, I survived it! :-)
